Advocate On Record

**Lawmen and White**, a full-service law firm situated in Defence Colony, New Delhi, is looking to recruit Advocate on Record to assist the Designated Partners of the Firm.

**Position Overview**:
The Advocate on Record (AOR) is a specialized legal professional who is authorized to practice law and represent clients before the Supreme Court of India. This role entails a high level of expertise in legal research, drafting, advocacy, and case management, enabling the AOR to effectively navigate the complexities of the Indian legal system and provide quality representation to clients. The Advocate on Record plays a pivotal role in ensuring the fair administration of justice and upholding the rule of law in the country's highest court.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Case Management**: Prepare, draft, and file legal documents, including petitions, appeals, affidavits, and other court-related pleadings. Manage case files, maintain records, and track deadlines to ensure the timely progression of cases.

2. **Legal Research**: Conduct in-depth legal research to analyze case laws, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to the cases being handled. Provide legal opinions and advice to clients based on thorough research.

3. **Advocacy**: Present oral arguments in court during hearings and trials, effectively articulating legal points and advocating for the client's interests. Present complex legal arguments in a clear and persuasive manner.

4. **Client Representation**: Represent clients before the Supreme Court of India by attending court hearings, conferences, and meetings. Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases and provide updates on legal developments.

5. **Drafting**: Prepare detailed and accurate legal documents, including petitions, written submissions, appeals, and rejoinders. Ensure that all documents adhere to court rules and guidelines.

6. **Collaboration**: Work closely with senior advocates, legal teams, and clients to develop case strategies, review evidence, and provide insights for effective case presentation.

7. **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with all court procedures, regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain the highest level of professional integrity in all interactions.

8. **Networking**: Build professional relationships within the legal community, including judges, lawyers, and other legal professionals. Stay updated on legal developments and trends.

9. **Continuing Education**: Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and court practices by engaging in continuous legal education and training programs.

10. **Document Management**: Maintain accurate and organized records of case-related documents, correspondence, and communication. Ensure confidentiality of client information.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized institution.
- Enrollment as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India.
- Successful completion of the AOR examination conducted by the Supreme Court of India.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Exceptional oral communication and advocacy skills.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- In-depth understanding of Supreme Court procedures, rules, and precedents.
- Professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
