**Job Description**:

- The IBM SAN Storage Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining IBM Storage Area Network (SAN) environments. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of storage systems while supporting critical business operations.
- **SAN Management**:Administer and maintain IBM SAN storage infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and upgrades of storage systems (e.g., IBM Storwize, IBM FlashSystem, IBM DS8000).
- **Performance Monitoring**:Monitor SAN performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize storage to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- **Capacity Planning**:Conduct storage capacity planning and forecasting to ensure sufficient storage resources are available for current and future needs.
- **Data Protection**:Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of system failures.
- **Troubleshooting**:Diagnose and resolve storage-related issues, including hardware failures, connectivity problems, and performance degradation.
- **Security**:Implement and enforce security measures to protect data within the SAN environment, including encryption, access controls, and auditing.
- **Documentation**:Create and maintain detailed documentation of the SAN environment, including configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
- **Collaboration**:Work closely with other IT teams, such as server, network, and database administrators, to ensure seamless integration of storage solutions.
- **Vendor Management**:Coordinate with IBM and other third-party vendors for hardware maintenance, support, and issue resolution.
- **Compliance**:Ensure SAN storage environments comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
