Position Title: Safety Supervisor (1)

Department: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

Job Summary:
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring a safe and compliant working

environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. This role involves managing workplace safety

programs, identifying potential hazards, conducting safety training, and ensuring adherence to safety

regulations and company policies. The Safety Supervisor works closely with management and

employees to promote a culture of safety and mitigate risks in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Management:
Implement and maintain the company’s health and safety program in compliance with local, state,

and federal regulations.

Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the

workplace.

Develop, review, and enforce safety procedures and policies, ensuring they are understood and

followed by all personnel.

Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety devices.

Safety Training & Awareness:
Conduct safety training sessions for all employees, focusing on hazard identification, emergency

response, and safe work practices.

Organize regular drills (e.g., fire, evacuation) to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.

Create and maintain safety manuals, bulletins, and educational materials to raise awareness of safety

issues.

Incident Investigation & Reporting:
Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses, identifying root causes and

recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain records of incidents, accidents, and safety reports, ensuring compliance with legal reporting

requirements.

Prepare detailed incident reports for management and regulatory agencies as needed.Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure compliance with all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

regulations, industry standards, and environmental health and safety laws.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and best practices and communicate changes to

management and staff.

Oversee the maintenance of safety documentation, including safety audits, inspection reports, and

training records.

Safety Inspections & Risk Assessment:
Perform routine safety inspections and risk assessments of the work environment to identify and

correct unsafe conditions.

Inspect work practices to ensure safe equipment use, proper safety protocols, and adherence to

company policies.

Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment are in safe working

condition.

Emergency Preparedness:
Develop, implement, and regularly review emergency response procedures (e.g., fire, chemical spill,

medical emergencies).

Act as a liaison with external emergency response teams, ensuring swift action in the event of an

incident.

Maintain and regularly check safety equipment, including first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and

emergency exit routes.

Communication & Collaboration:
Foster a culture of safety by engaging with employees at all levels to promote safe work practices.

Act as the point of contact for safety concerns, offering advice and support to both management and

staff.

Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety practices into operational workflows.

Continuous Improvement:
Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and make recommendations

for improvements.

Stay updated on the latest safety technologies, equipment, and practices to implement new safety

measures when appropriate.

Participate in safety meetings and share insights on new hazards, trends, or regulatory changes.

Qualifications:
Education:A high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related

field is preferred).

**Experience**:
3+ years of experience in a safety-related role, with a focus on workplace safety or industrial safety.

Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

Previous experience in supervising or managing safety programs is preferred.

**Skills**:Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and health and safety best practices.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Working Conditions:
Full-time, with occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.

Ability to work in various environments (e.g., office, industrial site, warehouse) and handle hazardous

materials or equipment.

Some travel to different company locations or job sites may be required.
