**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for anesthesia, obstetrics/gynecology and surgical services
- Review medical documentation to ensure appropriate code selection and adherence to payer guidelines
- Submit clean claims to insurance carriers, ensuring timely and compliant billing
- Work with providers to clarify documentation and improve coding accuracy
- Monitor and resolve coding-related denials and rejections
- Stay updated with changes in coding standards, payer policies and billing regulations
- Collaborate with billing, compliance and clinical teams to streamline workflows and improve revenue cycle outcomes

**Qualifications**:

- **Certification**: CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification required
- **Experience**: Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience, specifically in **anesthesia, OBGYN and surgical specialties**:

- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and reimbursement methodologies
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, CMS guidelines and payer-specific rules
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills

**Preferred**:

- Experience working in a multi-specialty or high-volume medical billing environment
- Knowledge of appeals and denial management processes
