**Job Summary**: The Duty Medical Officer (DMO) is responsible for providing immediate medical care and ensuring the continuity of medical services during their assigned shift. The DMO will assess, diagnose, and treat patients, handle medical emergencies, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care. This role requires strong clinical skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Patient Care**:

- Provide medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients presenting to the emergency department, inpatient wards, or outpatient clinics.
- Monitor and manage patient conditions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Ensure timely documentation of patient care and treatment in medical records.
- **Emergency Response**:

- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing immediate care and stabilization.
- Perform emergency procedures as required, such as intubation, resuscitation, and wound care.
- Coordinate with other medical staff and departments to manage critical situations effectively.
- **Clinical Decision-Making**:

- Make informed clinical decisions regarding patient care, including the need for further investigations, specialist referrals, or hospital admission.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining medical conditions, treatment options, and care plans.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Handover relevant patient information and treatment plans to the incoming DMO or the appropriate medical personnel at the end of the shift.
- **Medical Procedures**:

- Perform routine and emergency medical procedures, such as suturing, catheterization, and administering injections or IV fluids.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including blood tests, X-rays, and ECGs.
- **Patient Admission and Discharge**:

- Assess patients for admission to the hospital and complete necessary admission documentation.
- Review and discharge patients, ensuring they receive appropriate follow-up care instructions and prescriptions.
- **Compliance and Documentation**:

- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, policies, and medical ethics.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to legal requirements.
- **Continuous Learning**:

- Stay updated with the latest medical knowledge, techniques, and advancements in healthcare.
- Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development activities.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: MBBS degree from a recognized institution. Completion of an internship is required.

**Skills**:

- Strong clinical skills with the ability to make quick, accurate decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technology.
