**Job Summary**:
The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for processing customer payments, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring an accurate transaction experience. They play a key role in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere and supporting the restaurant's operational efficiency by managing cash registers, handling credit/debit card payments, and assisting guests as needed.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Customer Service**:
- Greet customers as they approach the cash register and provide a warm, friendly, and professional service.
- Answer questions about menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Provide assistance with any guest requests, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
**2. Processing Payments**:
- Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, including making change, providing receipts, and processing digital payments.
- Ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and balanced at the end of each shift.
- Process customer orders in the restaurant’s POS (Point of Sale) system, ensuring correct prices and charges are applied.
**3. Order & Billing Support**:
- Verify customer orders to ensure they are correct before processing payment.
- Assist in the preparation of customer bills and provide itemized receipts.
- Manage customer complaints or billing discrepancies professionally and escalate to a supervisor if necessary.
**4. Cash Management**:
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Ensure the cash register is stocked with sufficient change and money throughout the shift.
- Handle and secure cash, checks, and credit card payments according to restaurant policies.
**5. Maintaining Cleanliness**:
- Keep the cash register area clean, organized, and free from clutter.
- Ensure that the front-of-house area, including the waiting area and counter, is clean and tidy at all times.
**6. Providing Information & Assistance**:
- Help direct customers to their tables or assist with any seating arrangements as required.
- Provide guests with information about restaurant policies (e.g., tipping, takeout, reservations).
- Assist in managing customer inquiries, including offering suggestions about the menu or resolving minor issues.
**7. Team Collaboration**:
- Work closely with servers, chefs, and other restaurant staff to ensure smooth service operations.
- Assist in the coordination of customer flow, especially during busy periods.
- Help with light tasks like setting up the register area or preparing for opening/closing hours.
**8. Promotions & Upselling**:
- Inform customers about special offers, promotions, or new menu items.
- Upsell or cross-sell products, such as desserts, drinks, or add-ons, where appropriate.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role in a restaurant or retail setting is an advantage.
- Familiarity with cash handling, POS systems, and payment processing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, busy environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing payments.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and give change accurately.
- Manual dexterity to operate the cash register and POS system efficiently.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
