**Job Description**:
Experian India is looking for a Database Administrator
- As a key aide to both the IT Infrastructure and Development teams:

- Support the product roadmap for software maintenance and enhancement such that the quality of software deliverables maintains excellent customer relationships and increases the customer base
- Lead the team to design, implement, and maintain systems critical to our business functions
- Coordinate team efforts to plan and manage capacity of database management systems, create standards and procedures, and ensure technical documentation is maintained
- Participate in the on-call support rotation of DB2 environments on Unix systems; troubleshoot database problems and implement corrective measures as required; and again, ensure this technical documentation is also maintained.
- Ensure the team performs review and technical walk-throughs of complex changes
- Provide guidance to the team members to help build their confidence and skills
- Represent the team in regional (APAC) system planning meetings with business leads, helping to gain and maintain confidence in our team and teams we collaborate with
- Last, but not least, help to plan, and oversee migration of on-prem databases to the cloud.

**Major Job Functions**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate and communicate with all levels of technical management
- Translate business requirements and logical designs into working physical database designs working with Global Development teams.
- Participate in database design discussions with both software developers and DBAs
- Support environments utilizing DB2LUW (V11.5) both on-prem and in the cloud
- Install database software and patches, perform upgrades, manage utilities, monitor database performance and recommend enhancements; perform trouble shooting, perform tablespace management, and handle user requests
- Create high availability environments using HADR, Q-Replication, Attunity, Purescale, or other software.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises and update related documentation
- Support database systems 24x7x365 on a rotation basis with other team members
- Assist in the review and audit of database security policies and work closely with the security and auditing teams (internal and external as required).
- Ensure alignment of procedures, design, and implementations with current IT standards and controls
- Open and coordinate service requests with IBM Support
- Collaborate with the team to automate routine tasks;
- Perform change control requests (code deployments) when approved
- Additional responsibilities may include support of MongoDB, Attunity and other software; and other work as assigned.

- Work with other departments and divisions within the organization to identify any process improvements and improve standards, efficiency and profitability.
- Participate in DBA Team meetings for knowledge sharing and team collaboration of activities and projects

**Qualifications**:

- 10 + years of experience administering medium to large scale mission critical enterprise Oracle and database in multi-terabyte environments, namely Oracle 11g & 12c.
- Performance Tuning in an OLTP environment
- Strong SQL and Troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of PL/SQL queries
- Experience with RMAN, RAC, OLS, DataGuard, DB Vault is a plus
- Experience with Oracle database architecture concepts
- Proficiency working with Unix/Linux platforms with concrete knowledge of system administration/internals.
- Scripting experience in one of the following: Unix/Linux shell scripting, Perl & Python.
- Knowledge of Exadata & experience in other Database Technologies is a plus
