GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

To perform and coordinate the detailed technical Health, Safety & Environment activities associated with the facility’s daily functions, to develop and maintain appropriate control and auditing systems, and to provide leadership within the plant management team to promote creation of a safety culture, and developing the HSE skills of the supervisory and management team. Under the direction of the corporate Risk management department, the HSE Manager should be a significant contributor to, or leader of, broader corporate wide initiatives.

DUTIES TIME
- Support plant health & safety compliance per regulations 20%
- Develop safety programs, policies & procedures & oversee implementation 20%
- Support plant environmental compliance per regulations 15%
- Oversee & support the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System 10%
- Conduct safety & environmental training / lead & support workshops, 10%

track all plant training for compliance requirements
- Coordinate and support all customer requirements such as but not limited to the 10%

International Material Data System (IMDS)
- Act as the main contact with the government agencies including interaction 5%
- Develop & manage within a budget for safety & environmental functions 5%
- Oversee the collection and dispersing of data reporting 5%
- Plus from time to time, any other activities that are deemed within your

capability that you can carry out safely

CLIMATE

This is an important position for service to the company and it’s employees. The person in this environment works at a fast pace covering multiple tasks and functions associated with safety and environmental situations. The requirements of the business and regulations may cause frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

DUTIES STANDARDS
- Support plant health & safety compliance per regulations
- Maintain knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety standards or regulations and how those standards or regulations are to be applied to the facility. This includes inspection / review of new equipment and materials for the plant.
- Conduct set inspections to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Foster effective communication between upper management, supervisors, & employees to ensure all groups are informed and working together.
- Monitor employees health as per regulation
- Develop safety programs, policies and procedures & oversee implementation
- Develop, implement and assist plant management team with strategic planning for development and use of specific awareness programs (5-S, Housekeeping audits, Process Risk Assessment etc.).
- Maintain up to date safety policies and procedures and monitor compliance to legal requirements.
- Chair and coordinate activities of the safety team to ensure their continued involvement in the plant.
- Support plant environmental compliance per regulations
- Maintain knowledge of environmental requirements and regulations and how those requirements are to be applied to the facility. Facilitate continued efforts in improving waste disposal.
- Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Foster effective communication between upper management, supervisors, & employees to ensure all groups are informed and working together.
- Conduct required training to support compliance.
- Oversee & support the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- Hold the position as the Environmental Management Representative and oversee all functions of the system.
- Correspond with internal auditors & supervisors to ensure deficiencies are corrected.
- Correspond with the audit firm that certifies the registration to correct deficiencies and to make improvements within the system.
- Responsible for all permit filing.
- Conduct safety & environmental training / lead & support workshops, track all plant training for compliance requirements.
- Develop training network utilizing a train the trainer approach as needed.
- Support required training of all employees in those areas where it is not applicable for supervisors to conduct.
- Track training requirements and establish a training plan and regimen to meet the requirements of safety and plant specific work instructions.
- Periodically audit the effectiveness of the safety and specific work instruction training on the production floor.
- Coordinate and support all customer requirements such as but not limited to the International Material Data System (IMDS)
- Representative as the window person of the company for all related safety and environment customer requirements
- Coordinate within the company to support the customer requirement or activity on safety and environment issue
- Report the safety and environment data such as IMDS, CCCF per customer requirements.
- Act as the main contact with government agencies including interaction
- Accompany government regulators while in the plant & document activities.
