Position Overview:
The Assistant Professor in Medical-Surgical Nursing will be responsible for teaching, guiding, and mentoring nursing students in both theoretical and clinical settings. This role involves delivering high-quality education in the field of medical-surgical nursing, conducting research, participating in academic committees, and providing service to the academic institution and the community. The Assistant Professor will be expected to contribute to the development of nursing programs and stay updated with the latest clinical practices and educational strategies in the field of medical-surgical nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Teaching and Instruction**:

- Develop and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and clinical sessions in medical-surgical nursing.
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate students in nursing programs, focusing on medical-surgical topics.
- Utilize various teaching methods such as case studies, simulations, and problem-based learning to enhance student learning.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students in clinical settings, ensuring they meet the required competencies.
- Evaluate and grade student performance on theoretical and clinical coursework.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical-surgical nursing and integrate current practices and research into the curriculum.
- **Research and Scholarship**:

- Engage in scholarly activities, including research in medical-surgical nursing or related areas.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, present at professional conferences, and contribute to advancing knowledge in the nursing field.
- Participate in collaborative research projects and seek external funding or grants for research.
- **Curriculum Development**:

- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of the medical-surgical nursing curriculum.
- Ensure that course content aligns with current best practices and accrediting body standards.
- Continuously assess and improve the quality of teaching materials, assessments, and learning outcomes.
- **Academic and Professional Development**:

- Stay informed on emerging trends, research, and best practices in medical-surgical nursing.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, attending workshops, conferences, and training programs.
- Contribute to academic committees, department meetings, and other institutional activities.
- **Clinical Practice and Supervision**:

- Provide direct supervision and mentorship to students in clinical environments, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
- Foster a learning environment that emphasizes critical thinking, ethical practice, and patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers in clinical settings to provide students with real-world exposure.
- **Administrative and Service Responsibilities**:

- Participate in departmental and institutional committees as required.
- Engage in student advising and assist with academic guidance for nursing students.
- Contribute to the accreditation and continuous quality improvement processes within the department.
- Engage in community outreach and service activities related to the nursing profession.

Qualifications:

- **Educational Requirements**:

- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP/PhD) with a specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing.
- Valid nursing license (RN) in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (e.g., CMSRN) is preferred but not required.
- **Experience**:

- A minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience in nursing education is highly preferred.
- Experience in research or evidence-based practice in a healthcare or academic setting is an advantage.
- **Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing concepts, principles, and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students through interactive teaching methods.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
