**Job Purpose (Job Summary)**: Provide Application Development capabilities to technology enhancement activities that Invesco has deemed important to the success of achieving their business goals. Position faces both internal business clients and technology professionals assisting with both defining and implementing tools and processes to achieve viable, appropriate and sometimes market leading solutions to business problems. This role will be asked to assist in support responsibilities for the team when high volumes of requests are received.

**Key Responsibilities / Duties**:

- Enhance and maintain existing codebase (.NET, Informatica, SQL)
- Develop release scripts for code promotion to production environments
- Create and Modify Autosys (batch job scheduler) definitions
- Assist with developing improvements to team processes and procedures
- Complete all tasks related to technical analysis, building and unit testing, quality assurance, system test and implementation in accordance with the IT development life cycle
- Always conform to documentation, coding and quality standards as defined
- Understand client business and make recommendations and technology suggestions to solve problems and improve efficiency
- Prepare for and support user acceptance testing
- Assist project and line managers in producing estimates for the development phase of projects and enhancements
- Provide On-Call support for systems based on agreed coverage timeframe
- Handle general updates and configuration changes/requests
- Carry out root cause analysis following issues, and raise system & process enhancements accordingly
- Be available on pre-scheduled weekends as planned to carry out Business Recovery system testing (usually 2-3 times per year.)
- Provide production support as needed to backup support team as well as out of hours, weekend, and bank holiday support, when required, as agreed with Team Lead
- Escalate issues and remediation steps effectively and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Should be flexible to handle both support and development work.

**Working Conditions**:

- Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures.
- Normally works a regular schedule of hours and should be flexible for the timing changes, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment as well as estimate a shift starting at 5.30 am to until 8.30 pm.
- Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may periodically include 24 hour a day on call support by pager and/or cell phone.
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally. Frequency and duration to be determined by manager.

**Work Experience / Knowledge**:

- 1-3 years proven experience in software development
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience carrying out business process reviews and/ or production of business requirements
- Good understanding of and experience with people management, regulations, systems, and procedures
- Technology literate with good knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products,
- Basic knowledge of change management, process documentation and testing tools
- Knowledge of systems and business processes in use for the relevant business areas
- Understanding of relational database design and development life cycle principles

- Excellent verbal skills (must be capable of communicating clearly and effectively to senior business users, IT management and internal team members) and written skills (including ability to produce process flowcharting, requirements, project plans, and formal business solution documents)
