The IT Support Technician provides technical support and ensures the smooth operation of IT infrastructure in the school. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining the school's computer systems, and assisting staff and students with their technology needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Technical Support**:

- Provide on-site and remote support to staff and students for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, projectors, and other IT equipment.
- Set up and configure new equipment, including installing operating systems, software, and required updates.
- **Network Management**:

- Assist in maintaining the school's local area network (LAN) and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
- Support user access to the internet and internal resources.
- **System Maintenance**:

- Perform regular maintenance on IT systems and infrastructure, including hardware checks and software updates.
- Ensure data backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place and functioning.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment, ensuring timely repairs or replacements.
- **Software Management**:

- Support the use of educational software, ensuring compatibility with the school's systems.
- Assist teachers and staff with troubleshooting software issues and providing user training when necessary.
- **Security**:

- Monitor and maintain IT security protocols, ensuring that devices are protected against viruses, malware, and other security threats.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions following the school’s IT security policies.
- **Classroom Technology Support**:

- Provide technical support for classroom technologies, including interactive whiteboards, smartboards, and audio-visual systems.
- Assist in setting up technology for presentations, events, and meetings.
- **Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and issues.
- Record and track support tickets to ensure timely resolution.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- **Experience**: 1-3 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a school or educational environment.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, iOS, Chrome OS).
- Understanding of networking principles (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS).
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Familiarity with educational software and tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365.
- **Soft Skills**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to assist non-technical users.
- Patience and a customer service-oriented attitude.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

**Working Conditions**:

- Full-time position, typically Monday to Saturday with occasional evening or weekend work for special events.
- The role may require lifting and transporting IT equipment.
