**Job Purpose**:

- Deliver P&B targets by focusing on Safety, Equipment upkeep and reliability through effective use of various maintenance practices and execute projects to increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of the assigned Area.
- Hand-hold DMT members in daily asset care practices, propagate a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure EHS & other statutory compliance in the area through collaboration with other AET members.
- To maintain Conveyors, Coal Crushers, Vibrating Screen and BC-1 coal unloading conveyor and CHP auxiliaries including Ash Handling plants as well as Coal Distribution Circuit at CPP 1& 2 & CPP-3 (75MW + 60 MW Power Plant) to increase plant uptime and ensure efficient operation for supplying power, steam and compressed air to the Birla Copper operations at Dahej
- To collate information pertaining coal plant performance through coordination with CPP operations.
- To track and analyze operations performance of coal and ash handling plant, effective implementation of maintenance schedules including environment project.
- To ensure compliance of all quality, safety, health, hygiene parameters and statutory compliances through strict monitoring of operations, process control and improvement.
- To continuously upgrade skills of the team and embed a culture of quality, safety and sustainability.

Job Context:
Birla Copper Unit at Dahej has a captive power plant complex with potential to generate 135MW of power through three coal based thermal power plants catering to the captive power requirement of the complex. (CPP 1& 2 is a 75 MW Power Plant and CPP- 3 60 MW Power Plant) These plants also supplies steam to the process plants (PAP and refinery). This role is responsible for the direct supervision of operation activities of Coal and Ash Handling plants at CPP 1& 2 (75 MW Power Plant) and CPP 3 (60 MW Power Plant).
- This role is responsible for the direct supervision of maintenance activities of Coal plant, Ash handling plant and its auxiliaries, as well as Coal unloading & Distribution Circuit at CPP- I & II (75MW Power Plant) & CPP 3 (60 MW Power Plant). The critical element of this role is maximizing plant uptime and sustainability to ensure efficient operation and supply power and steam to the Birla Copper operations at Dahej.

Job Challenges:

- Coal and ash handling system is very old. Their difficult challenge to maintain at required efficiency levels and meet environment norms is a major challenge.
- Major challenges of developing new spares & Maintain spares also efficient operations in coal plant during monsoon due to frequently chocking vibro screen, discharge chute.
- The need to embed the culture of safety and sustainability.
- Complete safety during coal loading, coal unloading, coal feeding, Ash loading and unloading through contract manpower is great challenge.
- To manage Coal and Ash yard with minimum manpower to optimize operation cost.
- Clearing external audit of environment and safety for coal and ash plant without any NC is great challenge.
- To comply GPCB /CPCB environmental norms for coal handling plant and ash handling plant is great challenge.
