The Veterinary Technician works hand-in-hand with veterinarians to ensure quality patient care, and to aid the doctors in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work. They begin the examination procedure and continue to assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis and surgery.

**Designation: OT Technician / Veterinary Technician**

**Location: Chembur, Mumbai**

**PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed or ill or in pain.
- Can stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis.
- Is able to work effectively with doctors.
- Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all hospital staff members.
- Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying animals.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT**
- High school diploma or equivalent (12th pass).
- Veterinary Technician Certification desirable but not required.
- Experience as veterinary technician or assistant is desirable.
- Basic English reading capability is desired.

**General Responsibilities**
- Provides compassionate care to pets.
- Assists in restraining pets when necessary.
- Performs all duties in accordance with hospital medical policies and procedures.
- Assists the doctor in medical and surgical procedures; prepares patients for surgery; assists the doctor in administering anesthesia; monitors patients during surgery and recovery; administers fluids.
- Sending tissue and fluid samples to a lab for analysis.
- Provide specialized nursing care for injured or ill animals.
- Gives injections and administers oral medications in accordance with hospital policy.
- Assure that monitoring and support equipment such as anesthetic machines, cardiac monitors, scopes and breathing apparatus are in good working condition.
- Maintains an appropriate inventory of all medical supplies as determined by the inventory control system.
- Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Pre Surgical Responsibilities**
- Admit patients scheduled for anesthetic procedures ensuring that patients are well groomed and in a medically appropriate state.
- Prepares and maintains the exam rooms and treatment areas before appointments.
- Prepare patients, instruments and equipment for surgery; clean, maintain and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials.
- Prepare surgery suite for surgery in collaboration with surgery assistant.
- Perform induction/intubation and all pre-anesthetic procedures.

**Surgical and Post Surgical Responsibilities**
- Performs emergency procedures such as control of bleeding, resuscitation with oxygen, opening airways, and external cardiac massage.
- Administer fluids and blood products as prescribed by the veterinarian; use and maintain IV pumps.
- Administer and monitor anesthesia under the direction of a veterinarian.
- Monitor patients post-operatively.
- Clean surgery suite and instruments following hospital sterilization protocols.

**Salary**: ₹14,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
