**Position Overview**:
The Operation Theater Technician is responsible for assisting the surgical team in the operating room, ensuring a sterile environment, and providing support before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical interventions and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Pre-Operative Preparation**:

- Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Verify and set up surgical instruments, ensuring that all tools are functioning properly and meet the required standards.
- Assist in positioning patients on the operating table and ensure that patient safety protocols are followed.
- **Intra-Operative Support**:

- Assist surgeons and surgical staff by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Monitor and manage sterile fields to prevent contamination.
- Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including electrocautery devices, suction machines, and other specialized tools.
- Keep detailed records of the surgical procedure, including instrumentation used and any complications that arise.
- **Post-Operative Duties**:

- Assist with the transfer of patients from the operating room to the recovery area.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and operating room surfaces according to hospital protocols.
- Restock and replenish supplies and equipment as needed for subsequent surgeries.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Follow all hospital and infection control protocols to ensure a sterile environment.
- Adhere to OSHA and hospital safety guidelines, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with surgical practices and technologies.
- **Team Collaboration**:

- Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other operating room personnel to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new surgical staff and technicians.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: B.sc
- **Skills**:

- Knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergencies with composure.
