Role Definition

Responsible for designing, planning and optimizing warehouse layouts, processes and operations to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and plan warehouse layouts to maximize storage capacity, improve material flow and reduce costs
- Analyze and optimize warehouse processes, including receiving, picking, packing and shipping
- Ensure optimal use of warehouse space including vertical storage and inventory slotting
- Analyze data on warehouse operations, including inventory levels, shipping, receiving and labor productivity
- Provide regular reports and recommendations on warehouse operations and improvements

Warehouse planning: Knowledge of warehouse design principles including layout, storage systems and material handling equipment, Automated warehouse systems and Lean principles

- Works with warehouse operations team to understand and map the current state processes
- Capacity calculations for various volume and business scenarios
- Basic knowledge and understanding of WMS
- Works with Autocad draftsman in drafting the basic layouts
- Follows Lean principles while designing any warehouse layouts

Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies.

Level Working Knowledge:

- Uses tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance.
- Works with logistics in a domestic environment.
- Maintains records of all shipments and invoices using an established system.
- Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity.
- Participates in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks.

Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.

Level Working Knowledge:

- Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain.
- Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
