**Steward Job Description for a Premium Iyengar Restaurant (Bangalore)**

Position: Steward
Location: Bangalore
Restaurant Type: Premium Iyengar Cuisine
Experience Required: Minimum 18 months in a similar role

**Key Responsibilities**
- Greet guests warmly and ensure a welcoming atmosphere at all times.
- Take prepared dishes from runners and serve them efficiently to guests’ tables.
- Clearly explain menu items, including ingredients and preparation style, with a focus on Iyengar cuisine.
- Provide recommendations and answer guest queries about dishes and beverages.
- Ensure each table is set up according to restaurant standards before guests are seated.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area throughout service.
- Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and return change or receipts promptly.
- Coordinate with kitchen and runner staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Observe guests during their meal to anticipate any additional needs or requests.
- Clear tables promptly after guests depart and reset for the next service.
- Adhere to all hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards as per company and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with inventory checks and restocking of service stations as required.
- Minimum 18 months of experience as a steward or waiter in a premium or fine-dining restaurant, preferably in a South Indian Restaurant.
- Well-groomed, presentable, and maintains high standards of personal hygiene.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and local languages; must be well-spoken and courteous
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, especially in Indian cuisine.
- Ability to explain dishes and ingredients clearly to guests.
- Basic billing and POS (Point of Sale) handling experience.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong customer service orientation.
- Physically fit to stand and move throughout the shift
- Flexible to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in premium or specialty South Indian restaurants.
- Knowledge of Iyengar cuisine and South Indian food culture.
- Attention to detail, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
