**Job Title**: Packing Supervisor

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision of Packing Team**:

- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the packing staff specifically in the handling of gemstones, jewelry, and luxury items.
- Ensure that packing team members follow precise packing guidelines to prevent damage or misplacement of high-value items.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance with attention to handling delicate and valuable products.
- **Quality Control**:

- Ensure all gemstones, jewelry, and luxury items are packed according to stringent company standards, including the use of appropriate materials like soft pouches, anti-tarnish strips, or specially designed boxes.
- Inspect packed goods for defects, loose stones, or damage during handling, ensuring proper protection and presentation.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards specific to the luxury goods industry, ensuring items are delivered in pristine condition.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Manage and track packing materials specific to the gemstone and jewelry industry, such as jewelry boxes, display cases, silk pouches, and security seals.
- Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure precise counts, avoiding losses or discrepancies with high-value inventory.
- **Security Protocols**:

- Implement and enforce strict security protocols to safeguard valuable items during the packing and shipping process.
- Conduct regular audits of packed items to ensure accurate documentation and maintain compliance with security procedures.
- **Process Optimization**:

- Optimize packing processes while maintaining the delicate balance between efficiency and ensuring the safe packaging of high-value, fragile items.
- Recommend and implement improvements in packing techniques, including the use of technology (e.g., barcode scanning, RFID) for better tracking and traceability of gemstones and jewelry.
- **Team Training & Development**:

- Train employees on specialized packing techniques required for gemstones, loose diamonds, fine jewelry, and luxury goods.
- Educate team members on handling procedures to minimize the risk of damage, loss, or contamination of high-value items.
- Provide ongoing coaching on industry-specific packing protocols, customer presentation standards, and security practices.
- **Safety & Compliance**:

- Ensure packing activities comply with industry standards for handling luxury and delicate goods.
- Enforce safety procedures to protect both the team and the valuable items being handled.
- Report any issues immediately, ensuring adherence to both safety and security regulations.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate and detailed records of packed goods, ensuring traceability of all shipments and transfers.
- Work with operations to prepare reports on packing performance, incidents, and any security or inventory discrepancies.
- Keep detailed logs of packing material usage, specifically items such as tamper-evident bags or other security packaging used for high-value shipments.
- **Collaboration with Other Departments**:

- Collaborate with the production, shipping, and customer service teams to ensure timely and secure delivery of gemstone and jewelry products.
- Liaise with inventory control to prevent overstock or shortage of packing materials tailored for the jewelry industry.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training related to gemstones, jewelry, or luxury goods handling is a plus.
- **Experience**:

- 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory or team leader role in a packing or shipping environment, ideally in the **gemstone, jewelry, or luxury goods** sector.
- Familiarity with gemstone and jewelry handling, packing, and storage.
- **Skills**:

- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of best practices for handling delicate and valuable items, such as gemstones and fine jewelry.
