Position :Furnace Shift Operator

Qualification ITI /B.S.C. Chemist/Diploma with 2nd class Boiler Attendant certificate (preferred)

Experience :3 to 6 years of experience in Furnace operation

Location: Karnataka
- Knowledge about Furnace parts and it function. - Monitoring of furnace shell temperature, exhaust gas color during furnace running. - Knowledge bout PLC panel. - Monitor equipment operations, gauges, and panel in order to detect deviations from standards. - Read and interpret the SOP and Work instructions in order to determine work assignment and production schedules. - Knowledge to keep record readings in digital logbooks and manual log in every Hour. - Confers with supervisors the other equipment’s in order to report equipment malfunctions or to resolve problems. - Maintain, clean, lubricate, and handle the tools. - Ensure to stop equipment and clear blockages or jams in valves or equipment. - Ability to adjust the gas and air flow ratio in manual, Fine tuning and auto mode. - Sound Knowledge about gas burner and its function.
- ID & FD fan operation. - Furnace Start up and shut down activities. Furnace hazards and safety precaution to be adopted. Safety precautions for heating furnaces. Usage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Handling the Critical situation Response to emergencies e.g., power failure, fire, and system failure. Emergency services and measures taken to rectify. Regulation and control of furnace atmosphere and furnace pressure
- Identification of furnace irregularities and measure taken to rectify them. Gas shutting off for furnace cold repair. Experience required in valve and Gas burner service. Judging the flame characteristics through burner inspection holes. Control of the air and fuel input to the burner and Cleaning of the burners. Coordinating with DCS operator for furnace operation and set points. Knowledge about CO gas & LPG, Emergency response to the leakage. Maintain the minimum LPG stocks in furnace area. Knowledge about U- loop water sealing in CO gas line. Monitor the mixed gas fuel flow & Pressure from JSW. Report Shift In-charge daily. 5’S should be maintained in area.
- Furnace isolation and furnace De-chocking - Locating the various Lines, valves and instruments in:
- a. Air passage line
b. Fuel passage line (liquid fuel or gaseous fuel or both)
c. Combustion products (fuel gas) line.
- In case of any emergency occurring in operation, operator should intimate to mechanical and Utility In-charge, Production In-charge, Instrumentation In charge.
