Job Summary:
As an Accountant, your primary responsibility is to manage and oversee the financial aspects of the daily operations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Your role is crucial in supporting the hospital's stability and optimizing its resources to provide quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights into the financial performance.
Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget adherence and provide variance analysis.
Analyze the cost of operations, including medical supplies, equipment, and personnel expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for improving efficiency.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, laws, and regulations relevant to healthcare facilities. Stay updated with changes in financial and healthcare regulations that may impact the daily financial practices.
Facilitate external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide necessary financial documentation. Implement audit recommendations and address any financial discrepancies.
Oversee billing and reimbursement processes, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs. Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and manage accounts payable and receivable.
Provide financial analysis and support to the management to aid decision-making processes. Analyze financial trends and performance indicators to assist in strategic planning.
Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and prevent fraudulent activities.
Work closely with other departments, such as administration, medical staff, and finance teams, to gather financial data and facilitate financial planning.
Utilize accounting software and management information systems to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications.
Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a healthcare setting or a related industry.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement processes and regulations is advantageous.
Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
