**SUMMARY**

The Partnerships Associate at Wadhwani Institute for AI will support the Partnerships and Fundraising team in designing the next 3-5 year strategy vision for WIAI and provide critical support in the implementation of partnership and fundraising initiatives.

The Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Wadhwani AI) is an independent nonprofit institute developing AI-based solutions for underserved communities in developing countries.

We work with over 40 partners including key government agencies, international development organizations, NGOs, and research organizations to identify real-world challenges and create and deploy innovative AI solutions to reach intended users and beneficiaries - with the objective of creating sustainable, scalable impact.

Our projects are supported by leading philanthropies such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, and Google.org. Our accolades include winning the Google AI Impact Challenge (one among 20 out of 2600 competitors globally) as well as multiple awards at the 2021 Fast Company World Changing Ideas.

Our current portfolio of initiatives spans tuberculosis, maternal, newborn & child health, Covid-19, and cotton farming.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Research: Conduct primary and secondary research for the Institute across domains such as healthcare, agriculture, education, financial inclusion, fundraising, and artificial intelligence/machine learning.
- Knowledge tools: Creating knowledge tools such as landscape reports, white papers, position papers, concept notes, and presentations based on the research to inform decision-making internal and external stakeholders.
- Database management: Create, curate, and update databases of partners, donors, and external stakeholders relevant to the Institute.
- External engagement: Work with the Strategic Programs and Fundraising teams to identify, outreach and engage with external stakeholders such as donors, non-profits, governments, academic institutions, and for-profit organizations.
- Opportunity identification and evaluation: Support the team by identifying and exploring new use cases, programs, and initiatives in AI for social impact for underserved communities.
- Grant and proposal writing: Write grant proposals, presentations, and concept notes for the current and new solutions, projects, and programs at Wadhwani AI.
- Project management: Keep track of deliverables, timelines, and tasks for the Partnerships and Fundraising team.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES**
- A Bachelor's Degree
- 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in consulting or program management
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Is comfortable operating in an ambiguous environment
