About the Opportunity

Department Description

India Tax and Finance team is responsible for controllership of India domestic entities and its holding company based in Mauritius. The team is responsible for not only book-keeping but for other statutory and regulatory compliances such as taxation, SEZ, exchange control and others.

Team’s activity includes:

- Accounting - Month close activities, preparation of year end financial statements and statutory audit, management reporting
- Direct and Indirect taxation compliances - Corporate tax, transfer pricing, Goods and Service tax
- Regulatory Compliances - SEZ compliances

In addition to above, this team is also responsible to deliver transactional compliances and strategic initiatives such as UK and Ireland tax compliances, overseas VAT return of group entities, Country by Country Reporting including Master File, Group transfer pricing documentation and Group year end tax support.

Purpose of the role

The role will be responsible for direct (corporate tax, transfer pricing) and indirect tax compliances, refund and audit support as required for India, UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

The key activities involved shall consist of the below:

- Assist in corporate tax compliances and collation of data for assessments and responding to notices received from revenue
- Month end ledger scrutiny of tax ledgers, booking journals/reclassification entries, and updation of balance sheet reconciliations for tax ledgers
- Responsibility for indirect tax monthly and annual compliances,
- Filing of indirect tax refunds and collation of data for departmental audits
- Responsible for filing of global VAT returns
- Assist in SEZ related compliances, wherever required
- Awareness of evolving accounting, regulatory and tax regulations and standards

Experience and Qualifications Required
- MBA/CA Inter with 1-2 years of industry/audit experience in accounting and taxation
- Sound accounting and tax knowledge, detail oriented and good with numbers
- Advanced excel spreadsheet skills
- Good communication skills (oral and verbal)
- Sound Knowledge of Oracle would be preferred
- Ability to manage tight deadlines
- Attitude to Learn.
