Title: Fabric Expert - The House of Textiles Position Overview:
As a Fabric Expert at The House of Textiles, you will play a pivotal role in showcasing our diverse range of fabrics and assisting brands and designers in sourcing fabrics tailored to their unique needs.

Your expertise in fashion technical knowledge and extensive connections within the fashion industry will be instrumental in fostering strong partnerships and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Fabric Consultation: Provide expert guidance and recommendations to clients on fabric selection, taking into consideration factors such as design requirements, functionality, quality, and budget constraints.

2. Fabric Showcase: Curate and present an extensive collection of fabrics to clients, showcasing the latest trends, innovations, and timeless classics from The House of Textiles portfolio.

3. Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with brands, designers, and industry professionals, understanding their specific needs and preferences to offer tailored solutions.

4. Fabric Sourcing: Utilize your industry connections and in-depth knowledge of the fashion landscape to source unique and high-quality fabrics that align with client preferences and project requirements.

5. Technical Expertise: Offer technical insights and expertise on fabric properties, construction techniques, performance attributes, and care instructions to support clients in making informed decisions.

6. Market Research: Stay abreast of emerging trends, advancements, and developments in the fashion and têxtile industry, conducting market research to identify new opportunities and potential collaborations.

7. Appointment Management: Schedule and manage client appointments efficiently, ensuring prompt follow-ups and timely communication to provide personalized service and support.

8. Lead Generation: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting, networking, and leveraging industry connections to expand the client base and drive revenue growth.

9. Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, fabric selections, and sales transactions. Generate regular reports to track key performance metrics, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.

10. Collaboration and Networking: Collaborate with internal teams such as design, production, and sales to ensure seamless communication and execution of client projects. Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand brand visibility and enhance industry relationships.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Science, Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related field.
Proven experience (5 years) in fabric sourcing, consultation, or a similar role within the fashion industry.
- Strong understanding of fabric properties, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- Extensive network of contacts within the fashion industry, including designers, brands, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with industry-specific software/tools is preferred.
