Job Overview:
As a Commis 1 Chef at SkyGrove Cafe, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and consistency of our continental dishes. You will work closely with senior chefs, assisting in the preparation and execution of menu items while ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance your culinary skills in a fast-paced, high-demand kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, sauces, garnishes, and other components for our signature continental dishes.
- Cooking and Plating: Support in cooking and assembling dishes, ensuring they meet SkyGrove’s quality standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Station Management: Handle a specific kitchen station (grill, pastry, or hot kitchen) under the guidance of senior chefs, ensuring smooth and timely service.
- Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all food safety regulations and hygiene protocols.
- Inventory and Stock: Monitor stock levels and communicate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient usage of ingredients and timely reordering of supplies.
- Menu Development Support: Collaborate with senior chefs to bring creativity and new ideas to our continental menu, contributing to seasonal specials and customer favorites.
- Team Collaboration: Work harmoniously with the kitchen team, contributing to a positive and productive atmosphere.

**Requirements**:

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen.
- Education: A diploma or certificate in culinary arts from a recognized institution is preferred but not mandatory if you have relevant experience.
- Passion for Food: A deep passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow in the culinary field.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes and plating instructions with precision and creativity.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the cafe’s operations.
