As an Oracle DBA, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our data services, utilizing your expertise in Oracle DBA and ITIL practices.

**Your role**:
As an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) at CSC, you'll be responsible for managing and optimizing Oracle databases to ensure high availability and performance. Your commitment to delivering a consistent and seamless experience will be instrumental in meeting the database needs of our various business units.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

- Managing and optimizing Oracle databases to ensure high availability and performance.
- Implementing ITIL best practices in database management and support.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and meet the database needs of various business units.
- Monitoring and managing database systems to respond promptly to incidents and mitigate risks.
- Performing routine database maintenance and backups to ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshooting and resolving database issues to minimize disruptions.
- Developing and maintaining documentation related to databases and ITIL processes.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of database upgrades and migrations.
- Staying current with emerging database technologies and ITIL best practices to drive continuous improvement. Providing technical expertise and support to internal teams for database-related matters.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven eight-plus years’ experience in Oracle Database Administration (DBA) and implementing ITIL best practices.
- Strong technical background in Oracle databases, ITIL methodologies, and database security practices.
- Familiarity with database protocols, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with diverse business units and teams.
- Relevant certifications in Oracle DBA or ITIL are a plus.
