**Reports To**: Purchasing Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Purchase Officer is responsible for procuring quality goods and services for the organization in a cost-effective and timely manner. This role includes identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring inventory levels meet company needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Sourcing & Supplier Management**:

- Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of goods.
- Conduct regular supplier audits and monitor performance to ensure compliance with company standards.
- **Purchasing & Inventory Control**:

- Review and process purchase orders in line with company policies and budget constraints.
- Maintain accurate records of purchased items, delivery schedules, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with inventory teams to ensure that stock levels are maintained and meet production and sales demands.
- **Negotiation & Cost Management**:

- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to secure the best deals while maintaining quality standards.
- Analyze market trends to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and adjustments to procurement strategies.
- **Documentation & Compliance**:

- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with relevant laws and company policies.
- Prepare reports and documents for inventory, purchase activities, and supplier performance.
- Manage and update records of purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
- **Collaboration & Communication**:

- Work closely with departments such as Production, Sales, and Finance to understand procurement needs and align strategies.
- Resolve any issues related to procurement, including delivery delays, quality discrepancies, and payment disputes.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- **Experience**: 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement; experience within the [industry] is a plus.
- **Skills**:

- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control practices.
