**D&IS Chief Engineer**

Comprehensive experience across the signalling domain, with expertise in one or more of the following Engineering areas: Systems, Hardware, and Software.

Proven ability to deliver in best cost countries or a hybrid including higher cost countries where appropriate. Able to develop niche-signalling capability, including access to domain specific knowledge relating to global rail infrastructure. This may be through tiering of partners or through recruitment.

Able to manage and deliver projects with a high level of difficulty working with Engineers who are specialists (or experts) in their function. Will independently make technical and technological trade-offs. Proven experience supervising a multidisciplinary team

Proven ability to manages and lead a team of signalling engineers. Able to Manage competences, trainings and multiple deliveries of packages of signalling design. Passion and capability of driving professionalism and competency (e.g alignment to IRSE).
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant working experience the above mentioned areas.
- A Chief Engineer is responsible for the completion of a set of tasks within the committed cost, schedule, performance and quality.
- To achieve this goal, identifies the required skills, allocates roles and responsibilities to the various individual contributors and leads these contributors as a team. For the team, he/she schedules, coordinates and monitors the implementation of tasks.
- A Chief Engineer is in charge of tasks covering part or all the range of activities regarding customer needs, mission, function, architectural design, life cycle of the solution (requirements and specialty engineering, design, development, integration and verification).
- Delegates responsibilities to various individual contributors, plans, coordinates and monitors the performance of the work, identifies and manages risks. Ensures compliance with commitments relating to the work package (costs, deadlines, quality) in accordance with programme plans and objectives.

- Mainline, Freight, and Urban Signalling (ERTMS/ETCS, Positive Train Control (PTC), and CBTC)

- Understanding of Railway data, Safety Critical aspects of SW
- Experience with major System providers, Train Operating Companies/Owners, and lead contractors
- IRSE licensing
