Job Summary
As a job controller you are responsible for the organization, control and service capability of the entire workshop. Job
controller is the key person of workshop management and responsible for optimum utilization of available resources to
deliver the quality work within timelines. You are the interface between service advisor and workshop and responsible for
getting the work done as per the requirements of customers recorded by service advisors. You are responsible for upkeep
of workshop to facilitate un-interrupted working conditions with utmost safety. You are responsible for recruitment and
continuous development of skill level of workshop staff.
**Qualifications**:
You are a diploma holder with the leading skills for execution of quality work in workshop within timelines.
Training
- Trained and certified technician in an automotive service profession (e.g. mechatronics technician in the German
automotive trade) or comparable training.
- Further education measures, e.g. completion of training as an automotive foreman.
- Further qualifications in leadership and/or management experience.
Experience
- 10-15 Years of experience in automobile sector
- 2-3 Years of experience as Job Controller or Foreman

Technical Competence
- You are qualified to guide, train & review technicians for repair and diagnosis.
- You are capable to allot right person for right job as per the job criticality and technician skill
- You are critical assessor of work and capable of defining training requirements for workshop staff.
- You have sufficient knowledge about upkeep of workshop equipment and tools.
Process and organizational knowledge
- You have excellent knowledge of Service processes and interfaces of neighboring departments and the relevant
contact persons (Parts/Accessories, Front Office, Priority Relationship Management, Sales and Human Resources).
- You understand the connection between quality, customer satisfaction and business success.
- You are familiar with relevant recruitment, management and evaluation tools.
- You know the statutory requirements for occupational health, safety, fire and environmental protection.
Organizational skills
- You implement decisions effectively and achieve agreed objectives.
- You keep an overview of things even when daily business is hectic.
- You work in a structured and systematic way.
- You prepare yourself for customer’s visits and handle orders correctly, promptly as agreed objectives.
- You always attend to the quality documentation of all services and repairs to comply leagal norms and to avoid
conflicts
- You have a customer-centric approach and are sensitive towards customer requirements and fulfillment of same with
high precision.
**Tasks**:
Resource Administration
- Maintain/update availability of resources i.e. bays & technicians in DMS.
- Maintain/update skill matrix of technicians in DMS.
- Providing service capacity input to PRM for planning service booking for next day.
- Maintaining workshop tools and equipment by following maintenance/calibration schedule to avoid downtime.
Work Preparation
- Recite service documents for understanding customer requirements/concerns and work instructions translated by
service advisor and get the confirmation on understanding to avoid communication gap.
- Giving a time estimation to Service Advisor with due consideration of product updates, customer requirements, parts
availability and work load.
- Allotting the vehicle considering the technician skills, bay availability and plan the timeline well before the promised
delivery time given to customer by Service Advisors.
Diagnosis
- Support diagnostic technician and/or independently conduct workshop test drives in order to check customer
complaints (e.g. noises and/or vibrations).
- Document the diagnosis in order to provide a time record in warranty and goodwill cases.
- Establish contact with diagnostic support center (DSC) and clarify diagnostic cases that are difficult and/or do not
show results in a qualified manner.
