As part of the India companies team, you would need to have a proven track record of breaking news on major companies either domestically or overseas, expertise in a particular sector or industry, an established source network and the ability to deliver everything from market-moving scoops to fast-paced and informative updates on big breaking stories, along with deeper and more insightful pieces on evolving trends, strategies and innovations in some of the biggest companies and business sectors in India.

The ideal **Company News Correspondent **will:

- Work closely to ensure Reuters delivers a fast and comprehensive file on the biggest breaking business news stories on their patch
- Strive to break news on companies and sectors, while also delivering deeper stories on evolving trends and themes on their patch
- Be an individual with excellent people skills who will safeguard Reuters’ high editorial and ethical standards, adhering to style, guidelines and policies
- Be collaborative, and have the ability to work as a team player to deliver fast, authoritative and impactful coverage that will add value for Reuters’ clients
- Turn around quick stories, while ensuring we deliver fast and impactful coverage around day-to-day corporate developments
- Build and cultivate sources across companies to keep Reuters ahead in delivering scoops on potentially marketing moving corporate developments
- Deliver forward-looking analytical pieces on sectoral trends, or insightful stories on developments within some of India’s biggest companies

**Experience & Expectations**:

- At least 5 years of experience as a financial journalist, preferably with experience covering company news in India and beyond
- A proven ability to cultivate sources and break news
- Excellent people and networking skills
- Strong written and spoken English skills
