**Job Description
The editor works on economics and strategy research publications written by a multinational team, covering macroeconomics, monetary policy, politics, interest rates, FX, equity derivatives, quants, commodities and sustainability across the world as well as market commentaries written by sales and trading desks across all asset classes.

Publications are produced to a varying schedule that adds up to a steady flow of quarterly, monthly, weekly, daily and ad hoc pieces and market commentaries are produced on a daily basis.

The role of the editor is to review drafts, paying particular attention to the following elements in text and graphics: language, grammar and spelling; adherence to house style and compliance/legal requirements; factual accuracy; and clarity, consistency and structure.

The editorial function is a vital part of our communication with clients to ensure that we deliver high-quality publications with accurate, engaging and clear content.

The role involves continuous collaboration with research and Front Office staff, requiring excellent interpersonal skills.

Whilst editors do not interact directly with clients, they ensure our research publications and market commentaries express our views clearly and readers are engaged.

The editor must have a meticulous grasp of the English language and proven writing skills, including the flair and confidence to restructure authors? drafts to improve their value and impact.

As much of the work must be produced to tight deadlines, good organisational skills are a prerequisite, as is the ability to maintain a close attention to detail even under pressure.

**Responsibilities**
- Editing including reviewing drafts for grammar, spelling, style, clarity and accuracy. Where necessary, redrafting articles with a view to maximizing market impact, including creating punchy headlines and engaging stand firsts
- Managing consistency of content and style within and between documents.
- Ensuring that publications and market commentaries are accurate in terms of content, economic argument and logic, liaising with authors to ensure clarity.
- Considering all applicable compliance and procedural issues.
- Ensuring articles are published on time
- Exercising judgement in terms of highlighting material changes/suggestions for author review.
- Contribute to enhancements of our research and content production processes
