**Position Overview**:
Even Clinic is seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our team. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing high-quality blood collection procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene. You will play a crucial role in our clinic’s diagnostic and healthcare services, providing essential specimen collection for a variety of laboratory tests.
- **Key Responsibilities**:_
**Blood Collection**:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures (e.g., fingerstick and heelstick) for blood sample collection.
- Ensure correct patient identification and test requisition before collecting blood samples.
- Follow standard protocols for sample collection, ensuring quality, accuracy, and patient safety.
**Patient Interaction**:
- Greet and assist patients, making them feel comfortable and informed about the procedure.
- Ensure a compassionate and professional approach, particularly with pediatric, geriatric, and anxious patients.
- Address patient concerns, explain the blood draw process, and maintain a calm and reassuring presence.
**Specimen Handling and Documentation**:
- Accurately label blood samples and document details such as patient information, test requisition, and time of collection.
- Maintain detailed records of all specimens collected and ensure they are securely stored or transported to the lab.
- Ensure proper handling, packaging, and delivery of samples to the laboratory for testing.
**Infection Control and Safety Compliance**:
- Follow strict infection control practices, including the use of protective equipment, proper hand hygiene, and safe needle disposal.
- Adhere to clinic protocols for safe and hygienic blood collection to prevent cross-contamination or mishandling of specimens.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines and other patient confidentiality standards.
**Equipment and Supply Management**:
- Assist in the inventory management of blood collection supplies, ensuring all necessary items are stocked and available.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or low stock of supplies to the Clinic Manager
- Ensure that all collection devices, needles, and other tools are sterile and properly maintained.
**Quality Assurance**:
- Follow the clinic’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) for specimen collection and handling.
- Participate in regular quality assurance activities, including internal audits, proficiency testing, and ongoing training.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure optimal test results and troubleshooting any issues related to sample collection.
- **Qualifications**:_
**Education**:
- Completion of a formal Phlebotomy training program (recognized by government bodies or accredited institutions)
**Certifications**:
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician from a recognized body (e.g., PBT (ASCP), CPT (AMT), or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
**Experience**:
- 1+ years of experience as a Phlebotomy Technician in a healthcare or clinical setting is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a busy clinical environment is a plus.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
- Comfort in working with a variety of patients, including children and elderly individuals.
- Knowledge of safety and infection control protocols is essential.
**Working Conditions**:
- **Location**: Even Clinic, JP Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka
- **Schedule**: Full-time, with potential for evening, weekend, or holiday shifts depending on patient volume and clinic hours.
**Compensation**: Upto _INR 18,000 p/month_
Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- JP Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

- Diploma (required)
