Cosmetic Formulator

The Cosmetics Formulation Chemist is responsible for re-engineering benchmark products, hydrous or anhydrous in nature, while using innovative technology and raw materials.

The Formulation Chemist will be actively involved on providing training to R&I Analysts while performing various tasks within the range of responsibilities listed below.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Re-engineering of benchmark products in various product categories in hydrous or anhydrous systems (personal care and color cosmetics) with introduction of innovative and technologically advanced raw materials and technologies
- Review and/or develop specifications for new products for suitability with existing manufacturing systems and feasibility of other advanced technologies
- Perform all the applicable analytical testing based on product’s specification and written procedures
- Ability to review and interpret analytical data related to all the developed new and innovative product
- Preparation and documentation of all experimental lab batches including the procedures and all the applicable test results on the R&I electronic formula cards (Coptis) based on departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Verify samples, test results and label along with the R&I Chemist/Analyst
- Ability to perform risk assessment on the newly developed formulas
- Actively participate in clients’ visits, huddles, and conference calls on new projects/product development
- Assist with filling/pressing
- Provide assistance and / or training to Analysts
- Maintain compliance to all health and safety standards, SOPs, GMP, GLP and regulatory requirements
- Participate in DOE, Stability and Production Support
- Research and maintain up to date knowledge / awareness of new raw materials, technologies, equipment and trends in cosmetic industry
- Assist in preparation of R&I lab standards, approval forms and other related documents
- Organize and maintain stock of raw materials, components, pans and lab supplies
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of laboratory equipment, instruments, glassware, utensils and working stations (benchtops) etc.
- Assist in various R&I related lab work as required

**Skills, Experience and Education Required**:

- Post-secondary education (Bachelor or Master) in Science, preferably in Chemistry and related work experience
- Demonstrates interest and knowledge of cosmetic and wellness industries.
- Demonstrates high-level market knowledge of department store level cosmetic brands.
- Experience working in a commercial lab considered an asset.
- Willingness to learn and develop innovative cosmetic products.
- Looking to grow with a company.
- Must have good color matching skills
- Process and detail oriented with GMP and 5S awareness
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication, organization, and computer skills.
- Resourceful and solution oriented
- Must be a team player, creative, highly motivated and flexible with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Minimum Experience: 3 years

**Salary**: ₹40,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
