Position Overview: An Individualized Education Program (IEP) Special Educator, also known as a Special Education Teacher or IEP Coordinator, is a professional who works closely with students with disabilities in the education system. Their primary responsibility is to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student with disabilities. The IEP Special Educator collaborates with other educators, administrators, and parents to ensure that students receive appropriate educational services and support.
Key Responsibilities:
IEP Development: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, general education teachers, school administrators, and related service providers, to develop individualized education plans for students with disabilities. Assess students' needs, set measurable goals, and determine appropriate accommodations, modifications, and specialized services.
Instructional Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver specialized instruction based on the goals and objectives outlined in students' IEPs. Adapt teaching methods, materials, and strategies to accommodate students' learning styles and abilities. Provide individual and small group instruction as needed.
Classroom Management: Establish and maintain an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Set clear expectations, enforce rules, and implement behavior management strategies to ensure a positive and safe classroom climate conducive to learning for all students.
Progress Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly assess and track students' progress towards their IEP goals. Collect data and use assessment tools to measure individual student growth and identify areas that require additional support or intervention. Modify instructional approaches and strategies as needed based on student performance.
Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support students' needs in inclusive settings. Facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to student support.
Individualized Support: Provide individualized support to students with disabilities, addressing their unique learning needs, challenges, and strengths. Use differentiated instruction techniques and accommodations to promote student engagement, participation, and progress.
Specialized Services Coordination: Coordinate and monitor the provision of specialized services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and counseling, as outlined in students' IEPs. Collaborate with service providers to ensure the delivery of appropriate interventions and progress monitoring.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEP meetings, assessments, and communication with parents and stakeholders. Generate comprehensive progress reports and participate in IEP meetings to discuss student performance, goals, and modifications.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices, instructional strategies, and relevant laws and regulations. Stay informed about research-based practices and emerging trends in special education.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field (e.g., Education, Psychology)/ B.Ed/M.Ed.
- Valid teaching certification or licensure in Special Education.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Strong understanding of various disabilities and their impact on learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students and their families.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive devices in the classroom.

Part-time hours: 50 per week
**Salary**: ₹5,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
