Overview:
**Commercial Counsel - Commercial Excellence, APAC**

Waters is offering a new opportunity for a Commercial Counsel for Commercial Excellence (contract pay role) to join its Global Legal Team. Based in Bengaluru, India, this role will be responsible to support a wide range of legal matters originating from the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The role will report to the Sr. Legal Counsel - Commercial Excellence EMEA & APAC, but will be required to work closely with the Director, Managing Counsel APAC.

This is an exciting position with an opportunity to work on various matters from the APAC region providing across-the-board support for the day-to-day needs of the regional operations in a professional, collaborative, and effective manner.

**Responsibilities**:
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including on supply of goods and services, distributor and agency, marketing and advertisement, non-disclosure/confidentiality, memorandum of understanding, commercial collaboration, standard terms and conditions, lease, etc.
- Assist in developing and updating processes, guidance notes, playbooks, contract kits and standard documents to ensure effective delivery of legal support, including standard contract templates that can be utilized on a self-service basis by the business team with appropriate monitoring.
- Support the operation of compliance programs including due diligence process in connection with the engagement of third-party sales intermediaries.
- Conduct research on the latest trends and development of areas of laws and regulations in the region.
- Assist in creating and delivering required training on key legal & compliance issues.
- Assist with the optimization of regional legal process and operation.
- Deliver a timely, high-quality work on all the assigned matters within deadlines.

Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience:

- A high-quality commercial lawyer with minimum 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience.
- Commercial experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or in-house.
- Regional language skills (e.g. Japanese) would be advantageous but are not essential.
- A strong team player who is both committed and flexible.
- Effective planning and organizing skills to prioritize key areas of responsibility in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong personal communication skills, capable of dealing with a wide range of people and cultures.
- Proven ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and solve problems analytically.
- Ability to work independently and accountable for accurate, high quality work product.
