**Job Brief**:
The Mortgage Servicing Specialist/Lead is responsible for overseeing the preparation, analysis, processing, and documentation of all required forms and related documentation for both Performing and Non-Performing loans. This role ensures compliance with state, investor, and regulatory rules and regulations, as well as adherence to all relevant laws.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Key focus areas:
- Meet and exceed client expectations in servicing, delivery accuracy, investor reporting, document control, custodial account management, loss mitigation, reporting, and lender compliance.
- Ensure error-free completion of all deliverables.
- Performing Loans Experience:
- Monthly agency reporting, remittance, and reconciliation.
- Prepare, review, and distribute borrower mortgage statements monthly.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of cash accounts and escrow/reserve balances.
- Manage escrow maintenance, analysis, and payment processing.
- Post payments, escrow, reserve activity, and update loan information in the servicing software.
- Prepare pre-closing escrow analysis and interest calculations, and review pre-closing statements for accuracy.
- Review and record loan closing and securitization proceeds, as well as warehouse activity.
- Review loan documents and onboard newly originated loans into the servicing software.
- Generate and provide payment histories upon borrower requests.
- Contribute to agency audits.
- Non-Performing Loans Experience:
- Manage a portfolio of delinquent loans, ensuring compliance with all Bank and regulatory (CFPB & OCC) guidelines.
- Conduct collateral evaluations and provide written equity analysis for foreclosure, repossession, and legal action recommendations.
- Utilize loss mitigation techniques to explore available programs for borrowers in default or imminent default.
- Implement proactive charge-off recovery strategies to encourage repayment and minimize losses.
- Provide administrative support, including reporting, quality control, system coding, process changes, and forms management.
- Deliver effective customer service and responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, banking, finance, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of overall experience in mortgage servicing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in executing quality control measures within loan servicing.
- Ability to conduct detailed root cause analysis of client issues and problems.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working experience in Mortgage Servicing Platforms (e.g., Data Tree, Data Trace, LoanSphere, Black Knight) preferred.
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts as needed.
