Job Summary:
**Responsibilities**:
- Contact customers with overdue accounts via telephone.
- Negotiate repayment plans or settlements with customers to recover outstanding debts.
- Follow-up with customers to ensure payment arrangements are met.
- Document all communication with customers accurately and comprehensively.
- Provide customers with relevant information regarding their accounts and payment options.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns related to debt repayment.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve collections targets and objectives.
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and company policies regarding debt collection practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information and adhere to data protection regulations.
- Report on collection activities and progress to the collections manager on a regular basis.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in collections or debt recovery.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence others.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
- Familiarity with debt collection laws, regulations, and best practices is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in finance or related field will be a plus.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism while dealing with difficult customers.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting customer interactions and payment arrangements.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
