WSP is currently initiating a search for a Structural Engineer located to support our Boston (MA) or Houston (TX) office. Be involved in projects with our Offshore Wind Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

This is a unique structural engineering opportunity to participate and contribute to the offshore wind development in the US as well as in other parts of the world. Tasks may include assisting with the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of offshore wind structures or structural elements. Generate accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding material, installations, and construction specifications. Ensure that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
- Manage structural/civil engineering design and analysis for multiple offshore wind projects.
- Perform standard and complex structural engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methodology and principles and other viable approaches.
- Ensure all engineering designs implemented by the company meet applicable commonly used codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC or applicable offshore standards such as DNVGL, API RP-2A, and ISO 19900 series.
- Perform and document engineering studies, analysis, calculations, drawings and specifications under the direction of senior engineers. Review drawings and draw sketches using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Develop strong relationships with and becomes a trusted partner with clients.
- Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns.
- Identify future client needs and how to better position WSP to best serve those needs. Provides support to business development or pursuit activities.
- Support technical requests from current and proposed customers.
- Actively coordinate with other internal/external team members.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
