**Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart** **The Opportunity** **The Role** - Design and develop reliable, efficient, high-performance software for large-scale enterprise and hybrid cloud. - Develop an understanding of complex distributed systems and design innovative solutions for customer requirements. - Work on performance, scaling out, and resiliency of distributed storage systems. - Work alongside development, test, documentation, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment. - Engage with customers and support when needed to solve production issues. **What you’ll bring** - Completion of a bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering field is required. - Familiarity with OS internals, distributed systems and good practices for design/implementation. - Hungry and humble attitude with a keen sense of working as part of a dynamic team. - [For MTS3] 3-5 years of relevant experience. **The Team** The CDP team was the first team created at Nutanix. It is the team responsible for the Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric (NDSF) - a high-performance shared-nothing distributed file system. We are hiring for 2 sub-teams within the CDP umbrella: Stargate and Hades. The Stargate team is the "data-engine" of the distributed file system, which is responsible for handling all the IO requests, placing data, handling dedupe, compression and encryption, healing from failures, etc. The Hades team is the “disk manager” of the distributed file system, which is responsible for managing all the disks in the cluster, getting disks ready to be consumed by other services, handling newer drive technologies, handling disk failure, disk hotplug/unplug, disk health scanning, degraded disk detection, boot disk raid management etc. Team’s primary technology stack: C++, Python, Go **Meet the hiring manager** Shubham Shukla, Engineering manager in the Core Data Path team: I joined Nutanix in 2016 as part of the Core Data Path (CDP) team which deals with implementation of the Nutanix Distributed Storage solution. I graduated from IIT Guwahati and Nutanix is my first company. I joined as an Individual contributor. For the first 1.5 years I got to work on several different components within nutanix. Eventually I found out that I really enjoy performance improvement projects, so that’s where I spent the next 3.5 years on. I mentored a lot of people during this period and seeing that I was really good at it, my manager encouraged me to take on a leadership role. Now I lead a team of 6 people within the CDP team and I enjoy every part of it. I really love the work we do, the people we work with and the culture we embody. The CDP team works on some of the coolest projects. It’s been 13-14 years and we are still not afraid to re-invent the core architecture to leapfrog the capabilities of the product, making sure that we can utilize the newer technologies to the fullest. The people are the heart of Nutanix.
