**Organisation Background**
National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is a not-for-profit public limited company. NSDC was set up by Ministry of Finance as Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. The Government of
India through Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) holds 49% of the share capital of NSDC, while the private sector has the balance 51% of the share capital.
NSDC aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality and for-profit vocational institutions. Further, the organisation provides funding to build scalable and profitable vocational training initiatives. Its mandate is also to enable support system which focuses on quality assurance, information systems and train the trainer academies either directly or through partnerships. NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organizations that provide skill training. It also develops appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives. The differentiated focus on 37 sectors under NSDC’s purview and its understanding of their viability will make every sector attractive to private investment.
**Project Background**
The project is part of the implementation of the Apprentices Act, 1961. NSDC is the implementation partner for the MSDE for roll out and scale up of apprenticeship initiatives across the country with a focus on industry led courses i.e. Optional Trades. Apprenticeship is a
Skill Training program wherein a person is engaged by a company as an apprentice and gains classroom (theory) learning for a short period, followed by on-the-job (practical) training. NSDC is also the implementing agency for National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) i.e. a scheme of Government of India to provide financial support to establishments undertaking the apprenticeship training.
**Purpose and Scope of Position**
The position will be responsible for planning, strategizing and operations of the work undertaken by the Apprenticeship Division at NSDC. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and implementation of various projects/ processes and provide technical inputs in developing, reviewing, and adding value to the strategies.
Detailed Scope of Work is as below:
1. **Strategy**:Planning and strategizing the work undertaken by NSDC Apprenticeship
Division.
2. Identification of new, innovative, and relevant practices across skill development and vocational education space.

3. **Working effectively with all stakeholders** including but not limited to Sector Skill
Councils, Third Party Aggregators, Establishments, DGT, Regional Directorate of Skill
Development & Entrepreneurship, State Skill Development Missions, IT team etc.
4. **Inter departmental coordination** within NSDC, State coordination with State
Engagement Officers.
5. **Networking** with State and Central Government and ensuring timely scheme/ project delivery.
6. Carrying **Industry outreach** activities on behalf of NSDC and representing NSDC in various forums etc.
7. Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge database and repository of best practices in the field of demand led skill training/ vocational education/ apprenticeship.
8. Handling and coordinating with different stakeholders remotely during COVID-19 and flexible to work from home in completing deliverables.
**9. **Skilled in documentation and handling stakeholder management for effective implementation through convergence.
**Selection Criteria**
**1. Qualifications and skills**:
a. Graduation in Social Sciences/ Public Policy/ Management or other relevant field. b. Excellent management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills. c. Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and a team player. d. Ability to deal with dynamic environment e. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. f. Prior experience in multi-stakeholder coordination.
**2. Experience required**: a. 3 - 5 years of experience in the field of education/ skill development.
Experience in the field of apprenticeship ecosystem is highly desirable. b. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with statistical tool(s). c. Ability to analyze large and complex datasets and derive inferences for decision
