**About the role**:
Looking for a highly motivated and experienced bioinformatics scientist to join their bioinformatics team. In this role you will be responsible for analyzing NGS data. You will independently and proactively identify process issues and recommend solutions given critical timelines. This work is interdisciplinary and involves collaboration with lab scientists, R&D scientists, laboratory directors, and the bioinformatics team. You will have ample opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of our evolving technologies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and test the bioinformatics pipelines.
- Work with engineering team to deploy and manage bioinformatics workflows.
- Work with genomic and clinical scientists and software engineers to develop novel bioinformatics solutions.
- Build and maintain genotype and phenotype databases
- Recognize and address software automation opportunities and scalability bottlenecks

**Qualifications**
- 3+ years of experience with variety of NGS bioinformatics tools - GATK, samtools, bwa, pandas, snowflake etc
- Strong experience analyzing data from a range of sequencing technologies (Short and long read sequencing technologies)
- Strong experience and detailed understanding of the statistical and algorithmic workings of modern variant calling packages
- Experience using statistical computer language (R, Python, SQL, etc) to manipulate NGS data and draw insights
- Hands-on experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Eagerness in taking ownership of day-to-day production operations
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
