Job Description: Marine Crew Coordinator
Position Overview:
The Marine Crew Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of maritime vessels by overseeing the recruitment, scheduling, and deployment of crew members. This position requires meticulous organization, effective communication skills, and a thorough understanding of maritime regulations and crew management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Crew Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Collaborate with HR and recruitment agencies to identify and attract qualified maritime personnel.
- Conduct interviews, assess qualifications, and verify credentials to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new crew members, including orientation, training, and documentation.
2. Crew Scheduling and Deployment:
- Develop crew schedules based on vessel itineraries, operational requirements, and crew availability.
- Coordinate crew rotations, ensuring adequate rest periods and compliance with labor regulations.
- Communicate effectively with onboard management teams to facilitate crew changes and resolve scheduling conflicts.
3. Crew Management and Welfare:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for crew members regarding assignments, concerns, and grievances.
- Monitor crew performance, conduct evaluations, and provide feedback to promote professional development.
- Address crew welfare issues, including medical emergencies, personal matters, and morale support.
4. Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of crew qualifications, certifications, and training requirements.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and statistical analysis related to crew management activities.
5. Emergency Response and Crisis Management:
- Develop contingency plans and procedures for emergency situations, such as crew member injuries or vessel accidents.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities, emergency services, and external agencies to ensure swift and effective response.
- Provide support and assistance to crew members and their families during times of crisis or distress.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
- Prior experience in maritime operations, crew management, or a similar role preferred.
- Proficiency in maritime regulations, crewing software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and crisis management techniques.
The Marine Crew Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and well-being of maritime personnel, contributing to the overall success of maritime operations.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
