**Job Overview**

Successful Estimator display strong Estimation, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and

written/oral communication skills. They should be detail-oriented team members who can

consistently meet deadlines and possess the ability to work independently as needed. Computer,

interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Work independently or with our Lead Estimator of Burns & McDonnell US office.
- Estimate: Develop accurate cost estimates for Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects,

considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors especially for the US EPC projects

that includes all disciplines. Estimate $ cost for Transmission Line, Substation & Distribution for

Engineering, Land Acquisition, right of way, Material & Construction) Class 5, Class4, Class 3, & Class

2 Estimates.
- Material Takeoffs: Conduct meticulous manual and digital material takeoffs from engineered plans

and sections, ensuring precision in quantifying required materials and components for project

execution with minimum data as per AACEi standard. Estimate quantity for High Voltage

Transmission Line, Substation & Distribution of Electric Utility (Material Take off from

Drawings/Maps) or by thumb rule.
- Project Evaluation: Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to assess

project scope and determine resource requirements.
- Collaborative Approach: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, project

managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather essential information and ensure comprehensive

estimations.
- Cost Analysis and Optimization: Conduct thorough cost analysis, identifying areas for cost savings,

value engineering, and alternate solutions without compromising quality.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and

compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks associated with projects and provide mitigation strategies

to minimize financial exposure.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and technological

advancements to improve estimating techniques and processes, including enhancing proficiency in

digital tools for material takeoffs
- Software’s: Work on Software like HCSS, SageEOS, CostOS, Heavybid, Bluebeam, or such software

or even excel templates already developed for Estimation.
- He/she will be doing Estimation of various type of projects but mainly Electrical & Gas Transmission

& Distribution Projects, Substation Projects etc.
- He/she will do regular team’s meetings with BMcD US office to understand the work, executing the

Estimation work and keep them posted about the status or any such meetings.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum Diploma or BE/BTech Full time (Any Engineering Stream, preferably Electrical or Civil)
- Relevant Experience: 5-15 yrs.
- Should have strong capabilities in Estimation of High Voltage Transmission and Substation projects
- Strong understanding of electrical construction practices, codes, and regulations related to

Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects
- Understanding of Engineering, Material, Equipment, Labor, Permits & Construction terminologies.
- Intermediate level knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup

work processes.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee,

GMAX, and per Unit contract pricing mechanisms.
- Interest to learn & develop estimation skills in various Industry.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Ready to work permanently in 2nd shift (12:30 pm to 9:00 PM) to get 3-4 hours overlap with US

Office.
