Data Scientist

Position Summary
The Junior Data Scientist will be a member of our Data Automation, Machine Learning, and AI Practice, which
reports to Pivotree’s Director of Research and Development. The Junior Data Scientist will contribute to:

- Developing Pivotree’s Machine Learning platform, DIVE
- Providing custom data science solutions to Pivotree’s customers
- Collaborating with other parts of Pivotree’s organization to improve existing service offerings
- Identifying, researching, building new use cases and opportunities for ML/AI in our target markets

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Select with reasoning, implement, test, and tune statistical, predictive and machine learning

models.
- Work with customers to identify data related pain points and provide suggestions to solve

those issues using existing developed ML & AI toolsets, or potential new solutions.
- Establish data quality and consistency throughout data preparation, including data

acquisition, integration, normalization, sanitization, and transformation.
- Work with engineers to implement machine learning models and services, as well as AI

based solutions, within tools and platforms
- Interact directly with business partners and customers in a professional manner. Obtain

customer requirements and business understanding, communicate findings and deliverables
- Contribute to a data-centric corporate culture, transmit data science acumen throughout the

organization
**KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES**:Required**:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or

similar STEM field.
- 2+ years professional experience with modeling and analysis in fields such as machine

learning, statistical analysis, operations research, or data mining.
- 2+ year of experience with Python libraries used in data science: sklearn, pandas, numpy,

matplotlib
- 1+ year of experience with version control system - specifically Git and/or GitHub.
- 1+ year of experience in analytics and data visualization
- 1+ year of experience with data repositories, including SQL and no-SQL databases
- Experience creating and fine tuning AI prompts using a variety of large language models

business objectives into actionable work items, as well as communicate results
- Experience with several of the following - clustering, regression analysis, SVM, neural

networks, collaborative filtering, KNN, association rules, decision trees, NLP.
- Basic familiarity with core AWS services - specifically S3, RDS, and SageMaker.
- Capable of taking responsibility for an initiative and working with mínimal direction; self
- starter even when assignments are vague or undefined.
**Preferred**:

- Experience with Agile development practices.
- Experience in eCommerce, Supply Chain, Retail.
