- profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M. S. Swaminathan. The
Foundation aims to accelerate use of modern science for agricultural and rural development for
development and dissemination of technology to improve lives and livelihoods of tribal and
rural communities. MSSRF follows a pro-poor, pro-women and pro-nature approach and
applies appropriate science and technology options to address practical problems faced by rural
populations in agriculture, food and nutrition.
The Foundation works in the areas of Natural Resource Management, Biodiversity,
Biotechnology, Food, Nutrition and Livelihood Security and Skill and Capacity Development
using modern Information and Communication Technologies. MSSRF is present in six states of

Post-graduation in Botany/Plant Science, Expertize in GIS-based mapping of biodiversity,

**Job Description**Coordinating the project titled “Mangrove Field School: Establishment and Restoration of
Mangrove BioShield in Ernakulam District of Kerala & Strengthening Grassroots-level
Mangrove Management”

**Responsibilities**:

- Strengthen the grassroots-level initiative to establish a mangrove field school &
nursery and to raise mangrove seedlings;**
- Mapping of Mangrove areas in the district and potential areas for conservation,

augmentation and restoration;
- Restoration of degraded mangroves along Ernakulam district and its adjacent areas in

participation of gram panchayats and local community men and women; and
- Develop the knowledge and skills of the local community, especially youth, in the

sustainable management of coastal habitats and biodiversity
**Remuneration**:Rs. 30,000/month consolidated (TDS 10% deduction from the paid professional fee as per
standard policy).
