AVP (JOB NUMBER: MO 001416) **Job Description - AVP, Operations** **Job Title**: AVP **Date**: Immediate **Department**: Client Implementation **Location**: Chennai **Business Line / Function**: IFSO **Reports to**: Head of department **Grade**: (if applicable) **Number of Direct Reports**: 3 (Indirect reports approx..15) **Directorship / Registration**: **Position Purpose** The purpose of the role is to lead the Client implementation operational team in managing BAU activities in the space of various transition events such as Portfolio setup, Portfolio closure, Portfolio restructure, onboarding, off boarding of clients etc within Middle office. This role includes but not limited to leading change initiatives, challenging status quo, people management, stakeholder management, process excellence, risk & control etc. **Responsibilities** **Direct Responsibilities** - To lead a team performing various client implementation activities such as Portfolio setup, Portfolio closure, Portfolio restructure, onboarding, off boarding to the underlying Asset Manager clients - Monitor the performance via KPIs and KRIs of the team. Have close tab of all critical processes that can have financial impact to the bank - Leading in the design of a robust control framework for the team - Proactive in managing risk and Incident management - Manage Local and Global stake holders including Locations, Process owners and Project teams - Create a culture of ownership and accountability at all levels within the team - Lead Audit and other assignments for the team - Drive the team towards challenging status quo, process excellence - Ensure effective communication to all the parties involved - Inspire and motivate people to work towards the goals of the company. - To follow escalation protocols to senior stakeholders and department head on all critical topics for the team and process - Ensure that the team is continuously engaged - Design and lead towards a sustainable way of enhancing and maintain the right skill levels within the team - Monitoring and controlling of periodic updates to procedures, checklist etc - Establish governance to track performance, feedback including frequent review mechanisms within the team - Ensure to be a backup for the managers of the team where required - Willingness to take on other duties as assigned by management **Technical & Behavioral Competencies** - Overall understanding of Capital markets operations with familiarity towards Middle office trade processing, fund accounting, custody business etc. - Being organized with clarity of thoughts - In depth knowledge on transition related activities linked to Asset manager clients - Zeal to learn new things - Fair understanding of various investment products such as Equities, Fixed income, MM, FX, etc - Must be prepared to work in flexible timings - Excellent communication skills - Collaborative decision maker competent in process improvement discipline and implementation of industry acknowledged best practices - Ability to influence decision making throughout various organizational levels - Problem solving and problem resolution skills at a functional level - Ability to effectively advise and communicate with executive leadership, manage change and inspire partners to embrace change - Communicates effectively with diverse groups and individuals across different locations Specific Qualifications (if required) - Accounting/Finance/Economics or Financial Services Related Degree **Skills Referential** Behavioural Skills: (Please select up to 4 skills) Ability to collaborate / Teamwork Decision Making Organizational skills Ability to deliver / Results driven Transversal Skills: (Please select up to 5 skills) Ability to inspire others & generate people's commitment Ability to develop and leverage networks Ability to set up relevant performance indicators Ability to develop others & improve their skills Ability to anticipate business / strategic evolution Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent Experience Level At least 12 years **Other/Specific Qualifications **(if required) **Primary Location**: IN-TN-Chennai **Job Type**: Standard / Permanent **Job**: OPERATION PROCESSING **Education Level***: Master Degree or equivalent (> 4 years) **Experience Level***: At least 12 years **Schedule**: Full-time
