**Job Description**:
Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Solution Architect, Design and Implement strategic devops software solutions that confirm to industry standards, and thereby lead the enterprise DevOps transformation strategy.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, executive leadership, business heads, product leaders to architect, design, draft converged roadmaps and implement large scale devops transformation strategies
- Operate as an SME of critical KPIs like Observability, Resiliency, Availability, Latency etc., Drive definition, adoption and transformation of the devops metrices at an enterprise scale
- Triage and troubleshoot escalations for a wide variety of PayPal products.
- Monitor, detect and troubleshoot issues during code rollouts on the live site. Analyze real-time data to determine issue severity and impact and advise Product Development and Release Management on release GO/NO-GO. Influence the reliability of the platform automation behind such decisions
- Advise management and appropriate groups on customer impacting issues and provide recognized technical and business leadership while recommending appropriate actions.
- Identify process gaps and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
- Participate in the development of tools, systems and processes aimed at improving product supportability and overall support productivity.
- Work with different groups to develop and improve monitors for PayPal products and infrastructure.
- When needed provide direct support to PayPal merchants and their technical teams.
- Identify, verify and document irregularities in PayPal functionality, including posting appropriate bugs.
- Work with Site Operation teams to address sites issues.
- Participate in issue postmortems and influence a preventive culture, process changes and extreme automations
- Build and establish new channels for the Operations and Development teams.
- Perform extensive discovery and identity/lead opportunities of cost efficiency, tech debt reduction, revenue protection, process transformation etc.,
- Application of the concept of infrastructure as code at scale though tooling such as Terraform & CloudFormation and other creative integrations.

**What We're Looking For**:

- 14+ years of experience in IT industry with excellent knowledge of Software Engineering, Config management, CI/CD, Cloud strategies
- Ability to research, propose and prototype new principles, technologies, tools, and concepts and integrate them into the teams collective knowledge
- Solid experience in all phases of SDLC starting from requirement gathering, analysis, design, coding, implementation, observability and support.
- Ability to review deployment and delivery pipelines i.e., implement initiatives to minimize chances of failure, identify bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues.
- Excellent storytelling skills and a strong executive leadership pre
- Experienced in working with remote teams in a global environment
- Design and operational experience with large scale production grade systems.
- Deep experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, or scripting techniques.
- Reasonable experience in Linux and understanding of operating systems.
- Fair experience building and maintaining large distributed systems on one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Significant experience with infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform & CloudFormation.
- strong cross-functional leadership skills with ability to partner with business units, product management, program management and cross-functional teams to deliver business results with agility and high quality.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work on concurrent assignments with different priorities.
- Experience with infrastructure management and monitoring. Good to have knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
