**Job Type**: Full-Time

**Job Summary**:
The School Librarian manages the school’s library and media center to support academic learning, promote literacy, and foster a love of reading among students. This role involves developing the library collection, collaborating with teachers, providing instruction on research and information literacy, and ensuring a welcoming, organized, and resource-rich environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Library Management**:

- Organize and maintain the library collection (books, digital resources, multimedia, etc.).
- Oversee library circulation, cataloging, shelving, and inventory procedures.
- Ensure a safe, quiet, and inviting library environment.
- **Instructional Support**:

- Teach students how to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
- Provide guidance on research projects, digital citizenship, and ethical use of information.
- **Reading Promotion**:

- Encourage a lifelong love of reading through book talks, reading programs, and events.
- Curate age-appropriate and culturally inclusive materials for diverse student needs.
- Recommend books to students and staff based on interests and curriculum goals
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Prepare and manage the library budget.
- Maintain usage statistics and report on library programs and impact.
- Supervise library aides, student helpers, or volunteers, as applicable.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid teaching certificate or school librarian endorsement (as required by state).
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- School-based environment with regular interaction with students, staff, and faculty.
- May involve lifting books and materials, standing for extended periods, and using computers and digital tools frequently.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
