Site Supervisor

A civil site supervisor manages construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that work is completed on time, safely, and to the required standards. Their responsibilities include:
Managing construction workers

Creating work schedules, delegating tasks, and ensuring that workers have the resources they need to complete their tasks

Ensuring safety

Implementing and enforcing health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety inspections, and ensuring that workers are wearing the appropriate protective equipment

Managing materials

Ordering and managing the procurement of construction materials, and ensuring that the construction crew doesn't run out of materials

Coordinating with stakeholders

Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors

Monitoring progress

Checking that work adheres to quality standards and building codes, and identifying and addressing any issues

Providing reports

Completing site reports and other records, and providing regular reports to the site manager or construction manager

Site supervisors can work for a variety of employers, including large multinational corporations and local contractors. They are commonly found in industries such as construction, civil engineering, building services, and facilities management.
