Install, configure, and maintain Backup Exec software, Cohesity and HPDP and related infrastructure.
- Monitor backup and recovery operations to ensure successful completion and timely execution.
- Design and implement backup strategies and policies to meet the organization's data protection requirements.
- Manage backup schedules, retention periods, and archival processes.
- Conduct regular backup testing and verification to ensure data recoverability.
- Troubleshoot backup failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor backup storage utilization and capacity planning to ensure optimal usage.
- Collaborate with system administrators and IT teams to align backup and recovery processes with overall IT infrastructure.
- Document backup procedures, configurations, and changes for future reference.
- Perform regular maintenance activities, such as software updates, patches, and system upgrades.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in backup and recovery technologies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding backup and recovery processes.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and participate in the execution of recovery procedures when necessary.
- Maintain data security and confidentiality standards throughout backup operations.

**Primary Skills**:

- Proven experience as a Backup Exec, HPDP, Cohesity and Commvault Admin or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of backup and recovery concepts, methodologies, and tools.
- Strong expertise in configuring and managing Backup Exec, HPDP, Cohesity and Commvault software.
- Familiarity with various backup technologies, such as tape libraries, disk-based backup, deduplication, and cloud backup.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and customization.
- Solid understanding of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and RAID.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and their backup integration.

**Secondary Skills**:

- Knowledge of databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and their backup procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot backup failures.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and security.
