Strong negotiation skills - Skilled in data management systems, costing sheets, etc. - Familiarization with software such as GBSS, DSS+/PLM etc **Primary Requirement** **Leadership** - Demonstrating behaviours that are aligned with Kmart UGR’s, developing high performing teams, Recognising & rewarding high performance, Managing underperforming team members, Effective recruitment and selection **Commercial Capability** - “Analyzes and identifies key cost drivers, providing precise estimations for costing. Delivers accurate financial forecasts, including costs and order projections. Ensuring cost efficiency and profitability. Utilizes financial data and quantitative metrics to inform strategic actions and enhance overall performance. " **Operational Excellence -** Continuously refining and improving merchandising processes to enhance speed, reduce costs, and increase overall efficiency. Ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards and that the supply chain operates smoothly without disruptions. Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality, ensuring the best value for both the company and the suppliers. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable, timely, and cost-effective procurement of merchandise. Utilizing sales data, market trends, and buyers feedback to make informed decisions that enhance product assortment and merchandising strategies. Ensuring that the merchandising strategy aligns with buyers’ preferences and market demand, enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty. **Supplier Strategy** - The sourcing merchandiser is responsible for ensuring high-quality suppliers are available to support our strategic aspirations. This requires ongoing work in understanding developments in the manufacturing base within the region to keep suppliers sharp and honest. We believe in building long-term relationships with a narrower set of key supply partners who show continuous high performance to our delivery, ethical and quality standards as well as price/sample expectations. **Deliver Results -** This role is required to help improve the delivery accuracy and production timelines of our supplier base. We need suppliers who can respond fast to sales trends and understand the value in short lead times.
