As a Product Owner, you are responsible for ensuring the squad achieves their mission. The Product Owner constantly prioritises tasks and the squad’s backlog with the customer at the heart of their decision making. The Product Owner also ensures that the work is strategically aligned to the portfolio mission and engages with other Product Owners to align and manage interdependencies. Whilst this role is not a people manager, it is a key leadership role, galvanising the squad around a vision and supporting them to successfully deliver customer value at pace.
You will be part of a Program team, helping to drive the effective delivery of key strategic initiatives across the Home Loans Portfolio and partner Businesses. You will work closely with the program leads and key stakeholders including executives, to support strategy execution. You will also work closely with the Scrum Master, Squad members, Release Lead, Vendor development teams, technology and business units to plan, design, implement and embed system and process solution for all customers and partners in the end-to-end Home Loans value chain.
This Product Owner role will have responsibilities across two areas:
**1. Squad**: This role is part of the Delivery and Transformation Cluster and will be responsible for driving and managing the elaboration through to the implementation of projects and initiatives across multiple platforms.
**2. Portfolio**: By enabling the squad to complete their work, you will be contributing to our strategic objectives and managing the Portfolio’s risk profile.
What will your day look like
You will lead time-bound business change deliveries or product capability uplifts that support the Home Loans value chain and continuous improvement. This role involves leading and coordinating work across squads, Operation teams and technology areas. You will be expected to create alignment across channels, develop the implementation and rollout strategy, manage change and interdependencies between domains and/or other parties whilst successfully delivering the program of work. You will work closely with the initiative lead, other product owners / stream leads to prioritise work, manage, and deliver the change. You will also work closely with the journey experts and process engineers to ensure blockers and escalations are addressed across the project lifecycle.
**You will be responsible for**:
Creating and maintaining shared alignment across multiple streams of work.
Developing, maintaining and owning the roadmap for implementation.
Planning and prioritising features at the program and release level, including scope management.
Overseeing ANZ Delivery Framework compliance and reviewing project artefacts to ensure quality output is produced by the squad.
Ensuring roadblocks are removed to ensure the squad is able to deliver at pace.
Tracking and reporting benefits against business case objectives and targets.
Ensure potential and active risks and issues are captured, assessed, managed, and mitigated in a timely manner
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
A strong execution mindset and experience in leading both business and technology projects with the ability to actively engage in the whole delivery lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment, change management, operation, monitoring and refinement) of systems and services.
Proven track record and ability to monitor and manage delivery across a number of concurrent workstreams, identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence by presenting structured, fact-based compelling business cases, action plans and papers that can be easily absorbed and understood by key stakeholders, including executive level.
Prepared to flex and accommodate changes to delivery plans based on changing environmental or strategic factors.
Experience in working with and managing external vendors to deliver aligned outcomes.
Working knowledge and experience of various project methodologies and systems, such as Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, ANZ Delivery Framework, JIRA, and Confluence.
